Lucas Kawaielelani Andrade, 18, of Ocean View died Dec. 2. Born in Ocean View, he was a student and attended the Ocean View Evangelical Community Church. Funeral services today at the Ocean View Evangelical Community Church with visitation at 1 p.m. and services at 2 p.m. Burial to follow at Naalehu County Cemetery. Sylvia S. Arita, 64, of Hilo died at the Hilo Medical Center on Monday, Dec. 3. Born in Hilo, he was a member of the Hilo Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Friends may call at the Wainaku Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 445 Kulana Road in Paukaa on Saturday, from 4:30-5:30 p.m.; Memorial service at 5:30 p.m. Survived by brothers, Douglas M. Arita of Honolulu, Wallace M. Arita of Hilo, and Ronald K. Arita of Honolulu; sisters, Harriet H. Teraoka of Honolulu, and Carroldine K. Lenard Kalua Kaniho, 57, of Waimea died at the North Hawaii Community Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Born in Honokaa, he was a security guard. Friends may call at the Spencer Beach Park pavilion in Kawaihae on Sunday, where a Celebration of Life will be held at noon. Scattering of his ashes will occur at a later date. Casual attire. Jaimie Mahelani Leialoha, 47, of Hilo died Thursday, Dec. 13, at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker. Private services. Survived by husband, Joseph Rutter of Hilo; daughter, Jaylyn (Kaohe) Haleamau of Hilo; son, Joseph Rutter Jr. of Hilo; sisters, Jeanie (Kevin) Arakaki of Wailuku, Maui, Heidi Leialoha of Honolulu, and Amber Leialoha of Kailua, Oahu; brother, Frank Ogawa of Hilo; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Shizue “Beatrice” Nakanishi, 94, of Waimea died Dec. 5 at her home. Born in Honohina, she was retired and a member of the Kamuela Hongwanji Mission, Buddhist Women’s Association, Hui Uruma Club, Waimea Senior Citizens, and Kamuela Japanese Civic Club. Private services held. Survived by son, Glenn Nakanishi of Honolulu; daughters, Charlotte (Dennis) Yuen of Honolulu, Diane Imada of Honokaa, Carol Nakanishi of California; brothers, Harold Yasumori (Dora) Tomi, Harry Yoshiaki (Joann) Tome, both of Honolulu; five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
